Ponce update

Well I've hit my five week mark on the Ponce and well I'm still wishing I was anywhere but here. The watches still suck and its still a floating sweat box. I woke up the other morning and my foot was swollen and of course doc has no idea why, and I know for a fact that its not because I broke it or anything. The out to see back to port thing is getting super old, and nit having a day off is starting to take its toll. The crew is still super cool and the co doesn't seem to be such a super jerk, he's actually coming across as pretty cool. And as always the food sucks. However thank god for amazon!

Bahrain...again

Well I made it back safely and now I'm getting settled back into 110 degree temps. I knew there was a reason why I wanted to leave this place and now it's all coming back to me!

The ship is falling apart! You would think that the ppl who now own the ship would hit a point that it just isn't worth pouring money into something that you can't maintain. Not to mention the inside of the ship get's ungodly hot!

The guys I'm berthing with are pretty cool. Much to my surprise they were very welcoming unlike most divisions when you get on the ship and tell them that you're an AG they tend to hate you lol. The two techs that came with me are finding out what it really means to be in the navy seeing as we tiger team every morning at nine am. Let's face it AG's only forecast the weather. WE don't chip paint, clean fire stations, take out the trash, until now.

One of the good things coming out of this is the fact that I'm loosing a ridiculous amount of weight, but when you're consistently up and down the stairs in a hot ass ship it's bound to happen.

I'm glad that I'm getting to see my old friends here in Bahrain! Last night I went and hung out with Eric, Hussain, and Jenni before Eric headed back to the states. It was also kind of depressing because I knew I couldn't hang out for to long because I had to be back at the ship. But yeah the ship as wifi but if everyone is on it at once it gets to be really slow.

In the long run it's cool to be back even though I don't really get to leave the ship that much and it's akward being on a floating terd.

What's another 5.

Well it appears that I'll be once again headed back to Bahrain.

I'm not exactly to thrilled about this seeing as I just got back from the middle east. The only reason I'm going is because this one first class I work with got into a car wreck and broke his leg. This is the same first class who has some how dodged 4 previous deployments. But I should of seen this coming from a mile away because every time I get to a new command something always happens and I get sent off. First it was ASF second it was Iraq, and now there is this. But what's another 5 months of putting my life on hold.

There are a few reasons why I'm somewhat looking forward to this deployment. One of those being that San Diego isn't what I thought it was going to be. Seems like all of my old friends are to busy doing their own thing and have replaced me with other friends, and for some reason it's like I'm not allowed to be part of that new group. It's just so odd to me because all I heard while I was over seas is that they were so happy that I was coming back, and now that I'm back they can't even take the time or put forth the effort. Also let's face it I'm happy to be going back and seeing the people I got to know when I was in Bahrain in the first place. Oh and yeah I get to spend yet another Birthday in Bahrain but this time it falls along the same time as Ramadan which is going to blow.

Coming from someone who just got back from spending time away from the states, things are just easier when you're not here. The entire time I was over in Bahrain it didn't seem like I had to fight for anything, and meeting people just came naturally, but here it's different. I'm just so tired of feeling like I have to beg just to be included, and well that feeling stops tonight. This is the last night I wait and see if I'm going to finally be included in the group, besides I've been meaning to do a little spring cleaning.

I just want to get to the point that things seem normal again, and this isn't helping.

New Year New Start

Well it's been a week since the New Year, and well things have already started to change. Gabe and I finally called off what we knew was going to happen anyway. The sad thing about it is the fact that the night it happened we had a great time at the movies. By the movies end I could kinda tell that something was up because he just wasn't all there. I do miss his company but it's probably best I just stay away for the next couple weeks. No matter how a relationship ends I'm always a mess for the first week.

Last night the boys came over and we had drinks and just sat around and chatted. I love doing that. Besides after a week from hell it's always nice to have the chatter and laughter. It's one of the few things that I'm going to miss about this place.

I'm hoping that this coming up week won't be nearly as crappy as the last one.

Good bye 2011

So it's finally that time of the year were we all get ready to say goodbye to yet another year! 2011 has been a crazy ride. I only spent two months out of the year actually in the states and the other 10 in a foriegn country. There have been many ups and downs good times and bad.

Tonight I'll be spending the time with my BF and my ex all in the same night, which should be interesting. I'm secure in my relationship and my ex is secure in his new relationship so I don't see why there should be any drama involved. Now all I have to do is run to the mall and try to find something that looks dressy enough to go out and bring in the new year.

I'm just wishing April would hurry up and get here so I can finally head home and get back to San Diego, which is odd because my first round in San Diego was somewhat unsucessful so I'm not really sure why it's going to be any better the second time around. But hey it's New Year and new hopes.

Merry Christmas

I was a little worried that this year would suck mainly because I wasn't going to be near my family, but then I realized that I've made a nice family here. So last night we all got together and I cooked up some food and we all sat around the table and had a good time. Of course now my place looks like a dump but it was well worth it!

Today I went over a Keiths with Gabe, Hussain and Rod and it was an amazing evening! Rod cooked a turkey and a ham and now I'm soooooo full that all I want to do is go to bed! I couldn't of asked for anything more.

But yes now it's time to get ready for the New Year and once that's over it's time to get ready to finally end this deployment!

Okay if there's one thing I hate about living on this island is the fact that everything has to be imported, meaning it cost an arm and a leg. That's where Amazon comes into play. Not only can I buy things that I normally would in the states, but I get to pay that price. For instance today I bought the new Iphone for $350 bucks and it comes with AT&T which means I won't have to worry about anything when I get back to the states. I could of gone to base and bought the damn phone but there are two issues; first the phone hasn't been released here yet, and second the fact that the regular iphone 4 is $858 I can only imagine what the 4s is going to cost.

In other news I'm still waiting on my Iraqi medal and all the other awards I'm suppose to get since being here. We shall see if I ever get it lol.
