Ahhh so I've started the hassle of trying to find a place here, and well so far no such luck.
The nice thing about Bahrain is most of the places here are fully furnished and the furniture is actually really nice. A major hang up here is that only 25% of the residence in a building can be military and for some reason the housing office won't tell you if the building you're looking at is on that list until you go in to sign the lease.
Yesterday I had an agent show me around and she took me to 7 places. 4 were on that list 2 were holes in the wall and 1 I couldn't go see because my agent was a woman. Talking about an eye openeing experince.
The command gave me the day off so I could continue my search but my agent had a family emergency and had to bail on me, so I"m pretty much sitting in my hotel watching yesterday's news (everything here is a day behind).
Guess that means when the sun goes down I'm going to make my way to base so I can do some laundry and that's going to be the highlight of my day.
